Katie's Krops Grows On!

Katie...YOU ARE INCREDIBLE!

Thank you for doing your homework.  For actually processing it and letting it sink in.  For analyzing the situation and recognizing a greater connection.  This is every teacher's dream.  This is every entrepreneur's dream.  You are a reminder that there is not only good in the world, there is GREAT!

May we find a lesson in our mediocre tasks.  May we find a connection with our world through those lessons.  And may we find a way for our lessons to meet our skills, talents and dreams in such a way that makes it a better place.

Grow on, girl!
(and thanks to Upworthy for sharing this and giving us all a lesson)

Give Peace A Chance

"You can bomb the world to pieces, but you can't bomb it into peace." - Michael Franti

The only side to choose is "good"

"I don't have prejudice against meself. My father was a white and my mother was black. Them call me half-caste or whatever. Me don't deh pon nobody's side. Me don't deh pon the black man's side nor the white man's side. Me deh pon God's side, the one who create me and cause me to come from black and white."-Bob Marley

There are no sides.  There are only attitudes and actions of individuals.  There is no need for separation or segregation of people based on any of their physical traits.  The content of ones soul and the character he or she expresses through actions and words is what can and must be counted.  See past the surface.

If you haven't seen "Marley" the movie documentary about the life of Bob Marley, I'd suggest it.  I learned a lot and was fascinated by the story.  They had a lot of good footage.  I don't agree with all that Marley did or stood for, but I cannot deny that he was far ahead of his time and even our time in some ways with respect to his desire forums work toward global equality and abolishment of poverty in the ways he was capable.  We should use him as an example of how to utilize our own talents to do "what we can, with what we have, wherever we can!"

Until the philosophy which hold one race superior
And another
Inferior
Is finally
And permanently
Discredited
And abandoned -
Everywhere is war -
Me say war.
That until there no longer
First class and second class citizens of any nation
Until the colour of a man's skin
Is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes -
Me say war.
That until the basic human rights
Are equally guaranteed to all,
Without regard to race -
Dis a war.
That until that day
The dream of lasting peace,
World citizenship
Rule of international morality
Will remain in but a fleeting illusion to be pursued,
But never attained -
Now everywhere is war - war.
And until the ignoble and unhappy regimes
that hold our brothers in Angola,
In Mozambique,
South Africa
Sub-human bondage
Have been toppled,
Utterly destroyed -
Well, everywhere is war -
Me say war.
War in the east,
War in the west,
War up north,
War down south -
War - war -
Rumours of war.
And until that day,
The African continent
Will not know peace,
We Africans will fight - we find it necessary -
And we know we shall win
As we are confident
In the victory
Of good over evil -
Good over evil, yeah!
Good over evil -
Good over evil, yeah!
Good over evil -
Good over evil, yeah! [fadeout]
